Last month, the Project Place Young Supporters (PPYS) hosted the Party on D, a summer kickoff party at the Lawn on D (Street). If you’re not familiar, the Lawn on D is an urban adult fun park, complete with LED swings, corn hole and ping pong, and picnic-style food and drink . The PPYS, with help from sponsors The Cronin Group and Yotel, brought young supporters from Boston together to kick off summer in style. The evening’s soundtrack was provided by local reggae/funk band Dub Train. Attendees donned lighted LED bracelets in hopes of winning an Amazon Echo, and used the hashtag #PartyonD for the DIY photo booth. All in all, it was a fantastic event that raised over $1,000 for Project Place programs and services.
The Project Place Young Supporters is a group of caring and energetic individuals who work and study in various industries throughout the Greater Boston area, and are concerned about the issue of homelessness in the city. The PPYS’s mission is to spread awareness about the issue of homelessness, and support Project Place’s mission to end individual homelessness with career readiness training and housing placement. To this end, we host fundraising events throughout the year. Check out our Facebook or website for more info!
