On Feb. 25, a team of Project Place staff participated in Boston’s Annual Homeless Census. Conducted each winter by the Boston Emergency Shelter Commission, the Boston Homeless Census is a one-night, point-in-time count of individuals experiencing homelessness in Boston. It includes individuals who are living on the on the streets; in shelters and transitional housing; and in mental health or treatment programs. The Project Place team canvassed the overpass between the Broadway and 4th Street bridges in the South End. Despite the frigid temperatures, the team found and engaged a handful of individuals living outside. Stay tuned to the Boston Emergency Shelter Commission for results of this year’s census.
