On March 1 2015, Project Place held its signature event, the 12th Annual Brunch – Spring Forward! We raised a record-breaking $188,000 to support Project Place and our mission to provide jobs, housing and hope for homeless and low-income individuals of Boston. 350 wonderful supporters joined us at the InterContinental Hotel in Boston. These critical funds were raised from our committed sponsors, a silent & live auction, an active Fund-A-Need drive and generous donations from longtime supporters and new friends.
We welcomed back David Brown, Chief Advancement Officer at the Forsyth Institute and former WCVB-TV meteorologist, as the emcee and auctioneer John Terrio. During the event festivities, guests enjoyed live jazz music from the Russ Gershon’s Either/Orchestra and The Next Band. The program included a heartfelt speech from a client graduate, expressions of gratitude from Boston Mayor Marty Walsh, and the presentation of Project Place’s Heart of Gold Award to Mrs. Angela Menino, honoring the former First Lady of the City of Boston for her many years of service. The event concluded on a sweet note, as each guest walked away with delicious cookies from The Queens Cups, donated by Heather Wells.
