In response to growing concerns about Coronavirus (COVID-19), Project Place is taking a number of precautions to keep our community safe while still fulfilling our commitment to the homeless clients we serve by providing ongoing services and support.
In light of recent updates, and after much internal discussion, we have decided to postpone the Open Door Gala until this fall; to September 17, 2020. This is a precautionary measure to ensure both the safety of you, our supporters, as well as our clients who would also be attending and speaking.
We are extremely grateful for everyone who has already committed their support to this event and we plan on using this extra time to continue making the Gala a wonderful night for guests and clients alike. Thank you for your understanding in this matter.
We look forward to seeing you in the fall!
Project Place’s annual Open Door Gala supports the hundreds of individuals who come through our doors each year searching for the opportunity to build a better life. Over 400 community members will come together on April 23rd at the Boston Cyclorama, near our home in the South End. We invite you to join us as we celebrate the strength and successes of our clients as they overcome adversity and work towards their dreams.
Since our first Gala in 2017, this annual event has raised over $3 million dollars to provide critical case-management, education, and work training services to Boston’s underserved homeless population. With your support we can look forward to a new year of expanded opportunities for those in need. In 2020, we are launching new strategic initiatives: to grow our Career Services department; to replicate and expand our Re-Entry Services through Essex, Middlesex and Suffolk counties; and to provide Stabilization Services to increase access to our programs for those in need of more intensive assistance.
As a sponsor of the Open Door Gala, you will be creating jobs, housing and hope for our community!
